MongoDB 3.0 expands the use cases for MongoDB by introducing a new pluggable storage engine architecture. A new storage engine, called WiredTiger, provides significantly improved write throughput and compression that reduces the size of your database by as much as 80%.

This release also introduces Ops Manager, our management software that automates key operations with the click of a button: deploying a cluster, scaling, and upgrading.
