• Since MariaDB Galera Cluster’s replication is virtually synchronous, it’s important to make sure that the cluster’s network is performing adequately, so that commit latency is kept low. On some very busy systems, it may be necessary to make some OS configuration changes, such as switching from interrupt-driven network I/O to busy polling or increasing the size of the system’s Rx queues.

• MariaDB 10.1’s systemd support includes a new method to bootstrap a cluster: a wrapper script called “galera_new_cluster.” See MDEV-9007: https://mariadb.atlassian.net/browse/MDEV-9007
